Why Do You Need Resin Injection?

These are signs your home may be experiencing soil movement or foundation instability. Early intervention can prevent significant structural damage and reduce repair costs.

Cracked walls

Cracks in walls or brickwork are common indicators of foundation movement. By stabilising the soil beneath your property, resin injection helps stop further movement and reduces the risk of cracks worsening.

Uneven Floor

If floors are sloping or feel uneven underfoot, it’s often a sign of subsidence beneath the structure. Resin injection can stabilise the ground and precisely relevel affected areas without the need for excavation.

House Subsidence

Ground movement, soil erosion or reactive clay can cause foundations to sink over time. Resin injection fills voids and strengthens weak ground beneath your slab, restoring support and preventing further settlement.

What are the benefits of Resin Injection?

Resin injection underpinning has many advantages. Learn about the benefits of this method below:

Fast and efficient

With no need to excavate, the resin injection underpinning process is fast, efficient and easy. Depending on the project size, it can take as little as two days.

Minimally invasive

Our team will drill holes in carefully selected points to prepare for the injection, and these are minimally invasive.

Effective

Once the injection is released, it will fill every void beneath the surface and harden quickly. It’s a highly effective process.

How does resin injection work?

The resin injection is applied using pressure and fills all the holes and voids to address foundational repair. Resin injections can be used for house underpinning, commercial underpinning, and public buildings, fix subsidence and foundation issues, and handle crack repairs.

Our Raise and Relevel Process

Step 1

Foundation
Assessment

Every resin injection project begins with a detailed inspection of your property’s foundations. Our specialists assess soil conditions, voids beneath slabs, and the extent of any movement or subsidence to determine whether resin injection is the most suitable solution. This ensures accurate diagnosis and long-lasting results from the outset.

Step 2

Customised
Injection Plan

No two properties are the same, which is why we design a tailored resin injection plan for each site. Based on our assessment, we identify precise injection points and resin volumes required to stabilise weak ground, fill voids and, where necessary, relevel the structure in a controlled and cost-effective manner.

Step 3

Precise Resin
Injection

Our experienced team uses advanced, high-strength expanding resins and proven injection techniques to stabilise the foundation. The resin is injected beneath the slab or footings with millimetre-level control, compacting the soil and restoring support with minimal disruption to your home or business.

Step 4

Post-Injection Support
Support

Once the resin injection is complete, we conduct final checks to confirm stability and lifting accuracy. Our team remains available for follow-up advice and support, ensuring the repaired foundation remains stable and secure. All work is carried out to certified standards and backed by warranty for long-term confidence.

If your home or business requires foundation repair, R+R offers fast and clean underpinning services performed by trained professionals. Our team ensures the foundation is secure, stable, and restored to its original strength.

Resin Injection Common Questions

Resin injection underpinning is a method of foundation repair. The injection process is simple – the solution is injected into the building or house foundations. Once the solution reaches the surrounding soil, it expands. This method compresses the existing soil while filling in any cracks and voids.
It’s used to reinforce or repair foundations, underground tunnels and pipes. It fills in the gaps to make it watertight and stronger. There are different types of underpinning; concrete underpinning requires excavation and laying fresh concrete to stabilise a structure. The modern and more efficient method is chemical underpinning. Chemical underpinning utilises resin injections to address structural repair.
It can be used to address a variety of foundation problems, including:

Whether you have cracked walls or sloping floors, a structural assessment can determine the serious issue and which underpinning solutions suit your situation. A reliable underpinning contractor, like R+R, will review the structural design and assess wall cracks, water leaks, windows and doors, jammed doors, rising dampness, tree roots, leaning walls, or a leaning house.

There are obvious issues that chemical underpinning can repair – from sinking floors, drives, and paths to jammed windows and doors and even wall crack repair. It’s an effective alternative to traditional underpinning and can address the most common foundation problems.

There are several factors to consider before you decide on the best course of house levelling action. There are a variety of causes of weakening or unstable ground – it could be down to soil types, seismic activity, soil erosion due to flooding, excessive load, weak soil, poor workmanship or nearby excavation work.

Traditionally, underpinning can be a dangerous choice in reactive clay soils. The Australian Standard for footings and concrete slabs is to avoid traditional underpinning methods when dealing with reactive clays or soils. Other forms of foundation repair include concrete or steel piles beneath the existing foundation, concrete piers in the case of sinking piers, and slab jacking or slab lifting in extreme cases.

With resin underpinning, it’s a non-disruptive process that improves the ground engineering. It’s a quick stabilisation method, and it’s suitable for a wide range of building types. It can restore the foundation to its original condition, providing stability, strength, and durability. It’s a more environmentally friendly solution and requires no excavation.

However, there are disadvantages, as a sizeable unground void will require a much larger resin quantity, making it a more expensive solution than anticipated.

Traditional underpinning methods also strengthen the foundation and structural integrity of a building. Many of these methods are tried and true and have been used for over a century, but they can only deal with some types of subsidence.

Ultimately, the process can be slow, with concrete underpinning potentially taking months. Excavation work is required, which means many areas will be out of use until the project is complete.

In a battle between mass concrete underpinning vs. resin injection, the speed, efficiency and cost of underpinning with resin is unparalleled. While concrete underpinning involves excavating, injection underpinning is a straightforward process that takes as little as two days.

Clients choose Raise + Relevel for reliable, efficient, and high-quality underpinning services. Our team combines structural engineering knowledge, advanced resin injection technology, and years of hands-on experience to deliver permanent foundation solutions.
